| Perfect For
A Valentine's Day Theme
| For
the purists, Simon’s script contains plenty of one-liners and scathing, cynical remarks. Hamlisch, famed composer of
the hit musical “A Chorus Line”, gives us many show stopping and feet-tapping moments. Set in New York of the
1970’s, They’re Playing Our Song tells the story of a tumultuous relationship between frustrated but successful
composer, Vernon Gersch, and wacky but acerbic lyricist, Sonia Walsk. What started off as a rocky and sarcastic working relationship
soon develops into a full-blown love affair as they find that they are ignominiously drawn towards each other despite their
differences. They break up soon thereafter, and finally reconcile as they realize that, however much they get on one another’s
nerves, they make beautiful music together. Putting all of these elements together, what do you get? An entertaining evening
that will transport you back to the 70’s, bring warmth to your heart and smiles on your faces. They’re Playing
Our Song could certainly be one of your group's highlights in the near future!
The cast of They’re Playing
Our Song consists of one male lead and one female lead supported by a group of 2-3 men and 2-3 women.
