Welcome to San Amonte Square!!

Welcome to San Amonte Square!  The center of “this town’s” social life;  where things are bright and cheery ... on the surface. It's dark underbelly which most choose to ignore, is run by our ring leader, Justin. He makes his living running crooked games, trafficking illegal substances; whatever necessary to make a buck...  Until he meets Christy.

Warm and cheerful, Christy strives to make her world, and the lives of others, happy and secure.  Against all reason, Justin is smitten, though he knows she would never accept him and his dark world.  And he has competition.  Mr. Conrad, the florist, is a kind and upstanding member of the town who has eyes for her as well.  To what lengths will the two men go to win Christy’s heart? And who among the town folk can either of them rely on?  Mrs. O’Leary, the single mother raising two troublesome boys?  Or the Anderson’s, who’s married life is obviously less than perfect?

It’s a bumpy ride amidst a carnival aire', as love sets aside reason, to flourish where one would least expect it. Come and enjoy the ride on this fabulous rollercoaster we cordially call THE MAGIC MAN!

The Magic Man Cast of Characters:

Justin:  Justin is the underbelly of the city, pimping, running games, dealing in contraband, anything to make an easy buck.  It’s not that he is a bad person, he is just willing to provide whatever other people are willing to pay for.  Smart, canny, self-assured, good natured.

(Also plays one of the town folk.)

Christy:  Christy is somewhat of a busy body, and likes to involve herself in the lives of others.  She sees it as her duty to help people and try to make their lives better.  Somewhat insecure, but decisive and headstrong.  She finds more pleasure in little things.

Mr. Conrad:  Mr. Conrad owns the florist.  Cheery, friendly, perpetually optimistic, he’s your typical upstanding businessman.  A little self-centered.

(Also plays:  Arnold Leary, Poker Player.)

Mr. Anderson:  Corporate businessman, he is married to Mrs. Anderson.  Mr. Anderson likes to gamble and philander on the sly.  Not a strong personality, and is easily pushed around by others, though he readily bickers with his wife.

(Also plays:  Carnie, town folk.)

Mrs. Anderson:  Frustrated stay-at-home mother and wife of Mr. Anderson.  Prim and proper and a little bit snobbish, she takes pleasure in berating her husband, but is otherwise friendly.

(Also plays:  Hooker 2, town folk.)

Mrs. Leary:  Single mother trying to raise two boys (white trailer trash.)  Not necessarily bad, but not necessarily good.

(Also plays one of the town folk.)

Skip:  One of the Leary boys.  Cocky, self-centered.

(Also plays:  Carnie, Man with Balloon, town folk.)

Hooker (1):  Bright and fun loving.

(Also plays one of the town folk.)
